The Schroth Method is a conservative method of scoliosis management for children and adults. It is widely used around the world. The method is based on curve pattern specific corrections to provide maximal postural alignment, combined with specific methods of breathing to address ribcage asymmetry and to reinforce the corrections. It is followed by exercises for postural stabilization and ultimately neuromuscular reintegration of the new corrected posture in daily life. It promotes body awareness, enhances proprioceptive control and postural adjustments in a variety of functional movements. The Schroth Method is a very effective intervention for pain control especially in adult scoliosis.
